What's New for 2024?
After its major rework in 2023, Toyota leaves the Corolla relatively untouched for the 2024 model year. Updates include the dark-themed Nightshade Edition as well as the unique blue-themed Circuit Edition. The latest Corolla is offered as either a sedan or hatchback. The six-speed manual transmission is gone for the 2024 model year.
Real World Performance
The 2024 Toyota Corolla's standard engine is a 2.0-liter I-4, connected to a continuously variable automatic transmission with front-wheel drive. With 169 hp and 151 lb-ft on tap, the Toyota Corolla will go from 0 to 60 mph in just under 9 seconds. For an entry-level sedan, you'd expect the bare minimum in terms of handling, but Toyota exceeds expectations. Features like paddle shifters and drive modes, which usually only come on higher-end models are both available on the Corolla, giving the driver total control.
