Everything You Need to Know About Scion's Transition to Toyota

Throughout the years, Scion has earned a reputation for building unique, value-driven vehicles that were both fun to look at and even more fun to drive. Upon its introduction in 2003, Scion served as a laboratory to explore new products and sales processes in order to drive younger buyers to the Toyota brand.

Recently, Toyota announced that the Scion brand will transition back to Toyota, having accomplished its goals of drawing in younger customers and improving the car-buying experience thanks to innovative products and processes.

As part of the transition from Scion back to Toyota, beginning August 2016, 2017 model-year Scion vehicles will be rebadged as Toyotas. The FR-S, iA sedan, and iM 5-door hatchback will become part of the Toyota lineup, while the tC sports coupe will have a final release series edition and end production in August. Meanwhile, the C-HR, which debuted at the LA Auto Show, will join the Toyota family.

If you’re a current Scion owner, we have good news: You will be unaffected by the transition back to Toyota. All of your warranties, contracts, and Scion Service Boost contracts will be honored, and you’ll still be able to visit us at DCH Toyota of Oxnard for all future parts and service repairs.

And for all of you Scion fans out there, you need not worry, either. We still have a number of new Scion models, so if you’re thinking of purchasing a new Scion, now may just be the perfect time to take the plunge.
