2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV

by Client

Overview

The Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV enjoys a redesign for 2024, loaded with intuitive tech and updated style refinements. For those Mercedes enthusiasts aspiring to be more environmentally friendly, 2024 also sees the GLE debuting with all-hybrid power, including a plug-in model. The new hybrid power sets the pace for a whole host of new technologies.  Inside, the GLE delivers updated features and finishes throughout, borrowing at times from the GLS SUV. But the updates move beyond style and amenities to ensure the new GLE can meet off-road demands with greater ground clearance, underbody protection, and an off-road drive mode. The GLE even makes a "transparent hood" function available, which enables drivers to get a virtual view of upcoming obstacles when exploring rugged terrain.

Who's It For?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE is staunchly aimed at the luxury market. Of course, its roominess makes it great for affluent families looking to haul people around town. The generous cargo space will appeal to weekend warriors, looking to stash equipment while opting to travel in style. With the available off-road engineering package and off-road drive mode, the 2024 GLE also stands ready to deliver when it comes to off-road terrain, a plus for luxury vehicle enthusiasts who like to leave the city streets.

What's New for 2024?

Mercedes-Benz focused on a totally redesigned front and rear styling for the 2024 GLE, including new bumpers as well as updated front and rear lamps. The 2024 GLE also features new paint and interior color groupings. Also inside, the GLE gets a new steering wheel design, complete with sensor surfaces. The GLE has borrowed the GLS's chrome finishes in the dashboard vent area, for a lavish interior touch.

Real World Performance

For 2024, the GLE goes greener. All GLE engine options are now hybrid, with the majority classified as mild hybrids with a 48-volt integrated starter generator. These include the GLE 350, GLE 450, GLE 580, GLE 53, and GLE 63. The GLE 450e is the only trim in the line-up that is a full plug-in hybrid.

Even at the lower trims, the GLE delivers enough power for the highway and is quick to accelerate. 4MATIC all-wheel drive gives the GLE SUV premium traction in a variety of road coniditions, and responsive handling gives this midsized SUV a sportscar-like feel. There will be some buyers who will want to opt for the most powerful versions of the GLE, including the V8 turbo engine for a more thrilling driving experience.
