What's New for 2024?
Its latest model year means some mild visual updates along with loads of tech for the 2024 Wrangler. Sporting a mind-boggling 10 new wheel designs to choose from, along with an updated grille, this newest Wrangler isn't likely to be mistaken for last year's model.
Jeep says goodbye to the smaller screen of years past and impresses with a new 12.3-inch infotainment display that is standard on all models. Boasting Jeep's latest infotainment software, the 2024 Wrangler comes coupled with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Add to that tech list an onboard navigation system that knows how to keep Wrangler owners loyal with a mapping system of over 2,000 trails and the ability to add more. Also new for 2024, the Wrangler features a more effective noise-cancellation system geared to keeping the cabin quiet enough for phone calls. Lastly, Jeep offers a plug-in hybrid 4xe powertrain on both its Sport and Rubicon X trims, complete with a 3.6-kilowatt auxiliary battery.
Real World Performance
For outdoor enthusiasts looking for a vehicle that can meet their demands, the 2024 Jeep Wrangler is up to the task with any of its five available powertrains. The very capable 285-hp 3.6-liter V-6 engine is paired with either a six-speed manual gearbox or alternatively, an eight-speed automatic transmission. But Jeep knows it's all about options, which is why Wrangler enthusiasts can instead opt for the turbocharged four-cylinder engine with eight-speed automatic transmission, teamed with an electric motor for a burst of low-end power. Or, owners could also choose a 3.6-liter V-6 engine with a hybrid assist, a 6.4-liter V-8, or a 375-hp plug-in hybrid 4xe powertrain.
The base model two-door Wrangler Sport with V-6 and six-speed manual transmission can go from 60 mph in 6.1 seconds. The Sahara does nearly as well, with its automatic transmission bringing the Wrangler from zero to 60 mph in 6.8 seconds. Opting for the four-cylinder hybrid powertrain, the four-door Sahara with hybrid powertrain can still make it from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.5 seconds.
