When JD is on duty at Mills Honda, most people probably don’t he’s also a trained first responder. He’s worked with the Pequot Lakes Police Department and for several events at Brainerd International Raceway (BIR). Further to his credit, JD has received multiple life saver awards from North Hennepin Medical Center, National Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association, and Take Heart, St. Cloud.

JD, who joined Mills in August 2014, loves working in the family atmosphere. “I don’t have co-workers, I have a large family,” he said. His free time includes spending time with friends and family and watching and playing all sports.

Who has inspired you? Jerry Braam, former police chief. “He taught me how to be a good leader, how to lead by example on the front line. He’s always believed in me and pushed me to be great.”

A silver 1969 Ford Mustang GT 500 with black stripes is JD’s “dream car."

As a first responder, JD is passionate about helping people. “I will risk my life to help people whenever they need it and be there for them during their most stressful times,” he said.

The “family feeling” he gets from fellow team members is what JD loves most about working for Mills.
