It’s already been an exciting year for the Honda family, and Mills Honda is here to give you the rundown. Some of the biggest auto shows of the year occur in the first quarter, and these events offer automakers the chance to make a splash with their latest innovations. Here’s what Honda had to show off so far this year:

North American International Auto Show in Detroit

For the third year in a row, a Honda model won “North American Car of the Year” for 2018. Following the Civic in 2016 and the Ridgeline in 2017, the all-new Honda Accord (pictured above) took home this year’s award. In addition, the Accord was named “2018 Car of the Year” by the Detroit Free Press. The 10th-generation Accord features multiple efficient and powerful engine options, including a hybrid, plus all of the latest Honda technology for driver-assistive safety.

Those aren't the only awards Honda took home from Detroit this year. For the third year, CNET presented its “Roadshow Shift Awards” in Detroit, honoring the best in the industry. This year, that included the 2018 Honda Odyssey, which won the “2018 Cabin Tech of the Year” award. Thanks to Honda’s CabinWatch (pictured below), which allows parents to keep an eye on their little passengers in the second and third row through a pair of interior cameras connected to the infotainment touchscreen. The system even offers infrared LEDs so drivers can see the rear passengers without taking their eyes off the road, day or night.

New York International Auto Show

In New York, the 2019 Honda Insight (pictured below) made its global debut. Honda has led the electric pack with an extensive lineup of electrified vehicles. The new Insight will join the lineup as Honda’s fifth electric vehicle in addition to the Clarity series and the young Accord Hybrid. The Insight provides the style and comfort of a premium compact sedan, while under the hood, the third generation of Honda’s two-motor hybrid system puts out 151 net horsepower, providing this lightweight frame the best power-to-weight ratio in its class. Plus, it will get a projected 55 mpg in the city.*

Chicago Auto Show

Honda brought one of their biggest displays ever to Chicago. The massive display showcased over 25 new vehicles, including the new Civic Type R, the 2017 Indy 500-winning racecar, as well as the 2018 Green Car of the Year: the Honda Clarity.** The display also included a cut-away version of the Honda Odyssey, revealing the high-strength steel body beneath the skin. There were tons of modern Honda accessories on display, and interactive experiences, like HondaLens Augmented Reality (pictured below), which lets consumers use special glasses to see projected information about the Honda Accord.

Consumer Electronics Show

In recognition of modern automotive innovation driven by the rapid pace of consumer electronics development, Edmunds has teamed up with the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to present the “Edmunds CES Tech Driven Awards”. These awards focus on the new vehicles and systems that are innovative and already available on the market. The inaugural year awarded Honda with two of the most innovative cars on the market. The 2018 Honda Clarity (pictured below left) won “2018 Most Innovative Car of the Year” and the 2018 CR-V (pictured below right) won “2018 Most Innovative SUV of the Year,” both being lauded for style, efficiency, and value.
