Real World Performance

As you’d expect, the 2024 Porsche Taycan backs up its sleek looks with the performance to match. The standard Taycan comes with a single electric motor and a standard 83.7-kilowatt-hour battery pack, putting out 402 horsepower with Overboost and Launch Control enabled. The Performance Battery Plus option adds more power and range. Other Taycan models feature dual electric motors for extra power and all-wheel drive capability. The Turbo and Turbo S trims offer a huge step-up in performance with the latter offering an overwhelming 750 horsepower with Overboost and Launch Control enabled. The result is a blistering 0-60-mph run in under 2.6 seconds. 

Unlike most other EVs, the Taycan uses a rear-mounted 2-speed transmission with a short-ratio first gear for optimal acceleration and a longer second gear for maximum cruising efficiency. The Porsche Recuperation Management feature adds up to 90 percent of the vehicle’s braking energy back into the battery to help extend the driving range. Of course, the Taycan also offers impressive handling and braking capabilities designed to live up to the marque’s name and heritage. A trick active aerodynamics system uses active air intakes and a triple-level rear spoiler to add downforce and help the Taycan cut through the air like a precision-designed knife.
