While Cutter Automotive Galleries is located in downtown Hawai’i, the staff here loves a good off-roading excursion at different locations around the islands. If you're looking to discover the joys of taking the road less traveled, these locations will provide plenty of beautiful scenery off the beaten path.

Kauai

Polihale Ridge Road

Polihale State Park has plenty of open dirt sugarcane roads and sand dunes that run near the breath-taking coast of Na Pali. Visitors can camp overnight, swim in Queens Pond, and go kayaking.

Molokai Forest Reserve Road

If you’re looking for views of waterfalls, sea cliffs, and plunge pools, you’ll find it on this trail that also provides access to Waikolu Lookout and Kamakou Peak. Pack and picnic and camping supplies, you won’t want to leave.

Maunaloa Highway

Reach Mo’omomi Preserve when you take Maunaloa Highway from Kaunakakai. You’ll see Mo’omomi Beach, Kawa’aloa Bay, and Keonele Beach. Historic Hawai’ian burial sites and incredible views make this a unique trip you’ll want to plan on taking.

Poamoho Hele Loa Road

This narrow dirt road winds through the mountains, and those who traverse it will see old pineapple fields and the untouched landscapes of Uluhe fern and Koa trees.

If you’d like to view some of the beautiful wild birds of our islands, this road will take you through the Kapapala Forest Reserve where you can spot Apapane, I’iwi, Amakihi, and Elepaio.

Maui
