Overview

When Mazda designers and engineers set out to reinvent the brand’s midsize sedan option, they wanted to make every decision with the driver in mind; that’s why the all-new Mazda6 includes some of the most thoughtful touches to interior design, modern amenities, and graceful performance ever seen in a Mazda model.

The Perfect Ride For…

You’re ready for a luxury-level driving experience. You’re ready for available materials like Nappa leather and Sen wood enveloping you in comfort. You’re ready for Ultrasuede® trim lining the doors and dashboard using the same technique practiced by traditional Japanese kimono makers. You’re ready for sound-deadening glass and acoustic insulation to create an interior cabin with noticeably reduced wind and road noise. You’re ready for ventilated seats with air-wicking materials to keep you cool and comfortable no matter how long you’re in the seat. You’re ready for all of this and more, but you don’t want a luxury-level price. Starting at just $21,950,* you can have it with the all-new Mazda6.

Power and Handling

The latest generation of Mazda6 is available in five trim levels with two powertrain options. At the base Sport and Touring levels, drivers will enjoy the supremely efficient 2.5-liter SKYACTIV®-G engine, producing a swift 187 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. The standard 6-speed automatic transmission includes a Sport mode, which can modify vehicle driving characteristics to increase performance, and the Mazda-exclusive SKYACTIVE-VEHICLE DYNAMICS with G-Vectoring Control, which provides exhilarating performance-car-level handling and agility. Not only is this new Mazda6 quick, but it’s also great on gas; with Variable Valve Timing and Cylinder Deactivation technology, the Mazda6 gets an EPA-estimated 35 mpg on the highway and 26 mpg in the city.**

The three premium trim levels—the Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve, and Signature—offer the same 2.5-liter SKYACTIV®-G engine as the entry-level trims, but with a Dynamic Pressure Turbocharger that boosts the output up to an impressive 250 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque.

Key Features

Seamless Technology

The suite of technological innovations in the all-new Mazda6 was developed with the modern driver in mind, which ultimately focuses on eliminating distractions and elevating convenience. Mazda engineers improved the available Active Driving Display, a crystal clear heads-up projection on the windshield displayed at a precise angle for optimal visibility, which displays vehicle speed, navigation, and safety system notifications, as well as cutting-edge Traffic Sign Recognition technology. For infotainment features, the Mazda6 gets the latest Multifunction Commander control touch screen on an 8-inch MAZDA CONNECT™ infotainment display, which is less reflective and positioned higher on the dashboard, both creating greater visibility.

Peerless Safety

This latest generation of Mazda6 also gets the latest innovations in car safety features. The onboard computer uses an array of radar-guided sensors to detect all of the vehicle’s surroundings, even when moving at high speeds. This includes passive alerts with sound or visual cues in the Active Driving Display, like the Blind Spot Monitoring feature, which senses other vehicles in the blind spot and alerts the driver to the potential collision when changing lanes. There are also active safety features that go beyond alerts and can actively take control of the vehicle to avoid hazards, such as the available Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go, which can intuitively adjust speed and follow interval when cruise control is activated; it can even bring the car to a complete stop to avoid hitting another car cruising up ahead.

Endless Visibility

Part of the safety features in the new Mazda6 includes a camera system that allows drivers to see all of the vehicle’s surroundings. The available 360° View Monitor uses four external cameras to create a birds-eye-view of the car’s periphery. The video displays beautifully on the in-dash LCD screen, just like the limited rearview only cameras in older models. Even better, those radar-guided sensors in the front and rear of the body can detect the proximity of obstacles around the vehicle, giving the driver even greater awareness in tight spaces, making parking in the city easier than ever.

Alternative Options

At Cutter Automotive Galleries, we have many other great new Mazda models to fit every driver’s unique needs. In need of another more compact four-door model? We recommend the Mazda3. The smaller, lighter body pairs well with a more nimble powertrain, resulting in spritely performance, perfect for city driving. For more versatility, it’s hard to argue with the Mazda CX-9, a seven-seater SUV that features the same luxury-level interior trim options as the Mazda6.
