There is a host of reasons why Sears Imported Autos loves Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Whether you consider their impeccable style or considerable performance capabilities, Mercedes-Benz models stand apart among luxury automobile brands. But what really sets the automaker apart is its dedication to advanced technology. That's why we're so excited to announce that Mercedes-Benz will be making the production version of its all-electric EQ concept SUV available by 2020.

The Beginning of an Exciting New Lineup

With production to begin in Bremen, Germany, the electric SUV will be the beginning of a wave of EVs from the automaker--according to Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche, electric cars will make up between 15% and 25% of the company's sales by 2025. Mercedes-Benz plans to have 10 electric models available by that time, built in plants all over the world, and those waiting for the EQ will be pleased to know that its cousin--the plug-in hybrid hydrogen fuel cell GLC F-CELL--will become available in 2017.

Charged Up

Once it arrives at the end of the decade, the EQ (and its 70kWh battery) will be able to travel up to 310 miles on a single charge, and thanks to the wireless charging technology Mercedes-Benz has developed in its partnership with Qualcomm, charging the electric SUV should be as easy as pulling it into the correct parking spot.
