What’s New for 2024?

Slide behind the wheel of the 2024 BMW 4 Series and you’ll find the biggest change for 2024—a new dashboard featuring the BMW Curved Display. This feature combines a 12.3-inch driver display screen with a 14.9-inch display for infotainment. Both are customizable and easy to use with the iDrive 8 Operating System. Otherwise, this model does remain largely unchanged, sporting similar styling to the previous model year.

Who’s It For?

You don’t have to be a driving enthusiast to love the 2024 BMW 4 Series. Whether you’re a diehard fan of the brand or someone who just wants an intimate yet luxurious driving experience in a sleek package, the 4 Series aims to please. The gran coupe is perfect for young families and professionals, while the coupe is excellent for those who want a sportier experience. For drivers who love feeling more connected to the outside world, the convertible is perfect.

Real World Performance

The 4 Series comes in several flavors to satisfy just about any performance craving. The base 430i gives you 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque from a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Said power is funneled to the rear wheels or all four if one chooses the xDrive AWD option.  The M440i offers a step up in power and capability thanks to a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged 6-cylinder engine. Combined with eBoost 48V mild hybrid technology for improved power and efficiency, the 3.0-liter mill churns out an impressive 382 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. As with the 430i, the M440i lets you choose between a pure rear-wheel drive experience or the secure traction and capability of xDrive AWD.

Last up is the M4, available in base, Competition, and Competition xDrive variants. Powered by the 3.0-liter BMW M TwinPower 6-cylinder engine, the M4 puts out 473 horsepower in base form and up to 503 horsepower in Competition and Competition xDrive forms. The standard M4 features a 6-speed manual transmission, whereas the Competition and Competition xDrive variants use an improved version of the 8-speed automatic transmission.
