The Experience Rankings are an annual listing of 294 companies based on surveys sent to 10,000 US customers. Temkin Group (a customer experience research and consulting firm) puts its company rankings together by asking consumers three questions:

  • How easy is it to work with this company?
  • Could you do what you needed to with them?
  • How do you feel about the company?

Averaging those three scores together gets each company its Temkin Experience Ranking, with Toyota earning a 66% overall. The automaker has scored #1 among automakers for three of the past five years (coming in #2 those other years). The top three automakers on this year's list were Toyota at 66%, Mercedes-Benz at 65%, and Lexus at 63%.
